How to prepare a sun-bleached bone for carving?
Ok so I want to learn bone carving. I have a pair of deer shins that have been sitting on my deck for over a year (my dad was going to use them for something, then forgot and left them there. My deck isnt used often so everyone forgot about them. I just recently rediscovered them). What do I need to do to get them prepared for carving? All of the instructions I've found are for freshly-killed animal bones.
They should be ready as they are. PLEASE be cautious, you need a respirator that supplies fresh air if you are going to be creating any dust. That will stay in your lungs permanently.
