How can I reduce friction and add tension to my car mousetrap?
I used graphite as lubricant. My rear wheels are CD and my front wheels Pinewood Derby racing wheels. Traction, we will use frothy double tape and save paper glass on it. Is that good sound? Our car is a litlle over 6 meters ... How can we improve the distance while not radically alter our conception. And do say not increase the axle Wheele report because I already did that.
I guess ur done with the traditional car mousetrap arm view that pulls the rope and turn the Axel? the best way to improve the distance is to cut unnecessary weight as much as possible (if its heavy wooden id suggest starting over with a much lighter, the lighter the better). to the arm that rotates Axel heart more. If you increase the length of the arm that will accelerate over a longer period of time and therefore travel farther. Another suggestion would be to use 2 of the same size wheels so that doesn't Slide the arm on the ground of increased friction. When I made mine wheels i used to record the CD back to front and arm dragged a bit when the coil unraveled. I got mine to go 30 + yards. and also do not test ur trap several times, because it will force the source, after several tests. id replace the trap before the competition or the display for best results.
