If you descended from a mutant animal and were not designed by God, do you have rights different from animals?
Do you have unique human rights, such as the rights to life and liberty? If so, what gives you claim to greater rights than your progenitors enjoyed?
IF I were descended from a mutant animal, as macroevolution claims, then any rights I claimed would be so much bravado. However, as the Declaration rightly affirms, all rights are endowments from the Creator. He gives each of us rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
God has revealed through scripture and through his prophets that we are made in his image, capable of free will and rational action. No other animal has this divine imprimatur, and thus none has the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Thus, we can keep animals in zoos (denying liberty) or slaughter edible species for food (denying life).
To those who say we only have rights awarded by government, you have to admit that the 6 million Jews imprisoned and killed under Hitler had no rights violated. That is contrary to the judgment of the Nuremberg tribunal, as well as common sense.
