In paganism what reason would you have to keep a knife and a bowl under your bed or pillow?
i've never heard of it, so please if you could possibly give me a link to an article talking about it or something i would really appreciate it. Please no guessing or sarcasm. I really need to know.
could it possibly be some kind of protection ritual? Or something sexual? I know that the athame sometimes represents the male sex organ...No jokes please.

If the bowl is empty, not filled with water or salt, that would symbolize the empty womb. The knife (athame) represents the phallus (male sex organ). The placing of the athame into the bowl or chalice is a joining of the male and female, the god and goddess. When an individual places these items under a pillow it is spell casting so simply put the person is looking for fertility. Looking for something to fill the emptiness in the womb. I hope this helps.
