316l Stainless Steel 3ply Micro Mesh Filter - Joining??? Weld ? Laser?
Im making cylindrical precision filters from 316l 3ply woven mesh. Currently using a very time consuming technique, laser profiling the mesh then laser quaterizing and fusing every wire end. Filing off, and laser welding the profiled base plate on. Very very time consuming. Using lots of filler for all gaps and holes along the joined seams.
What is the best way to join micro filter material.......fine welding rods?? brazing?? Approx 3" x2" x 1".
I know I've worked with stainless steel 316L and most of the time we've had it ultrasonically welded.
These were fairly large bits of kit though for the pharma industry.
Try and contact these guys

They make the similar kind of thing you are after and they will advise you I reckon.
Best of luck.
