what about the whole the knife cant be bigger than your palm. i am almost sixteen and my knife is about 3 inches?
"Bigger than your palm" is totally untrue, no matter who tells you. Obviously people all have different size hands.
In Connecticut, you can carry a folding knife or a fixed blade knife as long as the sharp edge is less than 4 inches long. You cannot carry a double edged knives (called a "dagger" or "dirk" in legal terms). You can carry a switchblade, but it must be very tiny, with a blade no more than 1 and a half inches long.
The fact that you are 16 doesn't change anything in CT. However, be mindful that if you live in a large city, they can have more specific laws.
