Cleaning tack at home?
I usually clean my tack at the barn but the humidity is downright disgusting right now so I am thinking about bringing everything home and cleaning it. I really don't want to ruin my carpet though so I was thinking about getting some painter's drop cloths to put down. Does this sound like a good idea?
Do you clean your tack at home? If so, how do you keep from making a huge mess?
Outside isn't a very comfortable option. It is over 90 degrees out with 90-95% humidity here and several thunderstorms popping up each day (over 6 inches of rain this past week alone). So yeah, cleaning it outside isn't gonna happen while I have air conditioning.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. That way, you can throw it away and not worry about the mess.
I usually clean mine on the kitchen table. XD And any mess can be cleaned up later, though the only mess I usually make, is I get neatsfoot oil all over. And it's all fairly easy to wipe up.
