Surgical Tools set? Do you know where I can get one?
Hi I am a freshman in High school. I have decided on becoming a surgeon, if I can make it there
I just wanted to know if there was a kit with the sugical tools in it, maybe even made of plastic, that I can buy to get familar with the tools. Like a surgical play set for teens? Am I making sense?
Freshman in high school, then college, then 4 years of medical school. So you want to prepare your surgical skills now so you're ready 12 years from now? I don't want to take the wind out of your sails but I recommend enjoying high school, study hard but take part is different clubs/activities, learn about life. Then when you get into college, I suggest you roam around with some doc's so you get an idea about what it is really about.
But if you really want to "cut and paste", your doctor may be able to get you a scalpel and disposable suture kit, but if no kit, the sewing store can get you curved needles and thread, get very fine pliers with which to hold the needles, go to the butcher shop to get some pigs ears (that's what I practiced on) and use the internet to learn suturing techniques.
