Pottery/Kiln question?
After you have made the piece of pottery on the wheel- usually you wait a while so you can trim the bottom. How long can a piece of pottery just sit on a she;f with out being fired?
Practically forever - it has to dry before it can be fired without exploding unless it is heated very very slowly, but once there it can just sit. The problem is that it is pretty weak and the longer it sits the more chance it will get bumped and chipped or otherwise damaged.
