Two Dozen

I just bought two dozen eggs from a farmers market...ALL of them, without exception, had double yokes. CREEPY!?

What are the odds of that happening?

The odds at a Farmers Market are pretty good actually. I bet that if you ask about the chickens they were all fairly young and of about the same age. Young hens tend to lay more double yolk eggs. Some breeds are more prone to also. Almost all of our Rhode Island Reds had doubles when they first started to lay buy I don't remember any from the Arucana's.
