Do you think wood should be banned as a building material?
I think that all new buildings should be made of other materials like cob, hay, straw, earthship, stones, and even hemp. I think we could save the rain forests and fight global warming if no more buildings were made out of wood. Straw, cob, and hemp are very strong and durable materials. A sheet of paper may be weak and flammable, but a phone book is not. The same is true about bails of hay and bundles of cob and hemp. Believe it or not, hemp is one of the most versatile plants out there. As a building material it's fire-resistant and stronger than cement. If you don't believe me watch this video? In the beginning, asbestos was allowed in building codes. Now the banning of it is widespread. I don't see why they can't do the same with lumber. Tell me what you think

Not if it is sustainable harvested.
I do think there is a need to invest in green building and alternative materials such as bamboo, recycled materials and sustainable materials, other than wood. I don't think it needs to be banned, just solely sustainable, and used in moderation
